Got a specific project in mind or just want to experiment? Our "Make Anything!" workshop is an open-studio style session designed for independent creation with technical support. Bring your own ideas and vision to life - beginners welcome!
What to Expect:
Self-Guided Studio Style: This is not a step-by-step project class. We do not provide templates, stencils, or standard project instructions (e.g., we won't be walking through step-by-step how to make a mug). You bring the creative concept, and we provide the workspace and support!
Instructor Feedback & Support: An experienced instructor will be on-site to help bring your vision to life safely. They will assist with technical advice, evaluate structural stability, and ensure attachment points (like handles or spouts) are joined securely so your piece survives the drying and firing processes.
What’s Included:
2 lbs of Clay: Enough clay to build up to 2 items.
Handbuilding Tools: Full access to studio tools for shaping, carving, and texturing.
Finishing Options: Studio dip glaze is included, or you can return to self-paint your pieces for $10/piece.
Workshop Guidelines & Parameters: To ensure everyone’s creations dry evenly and survive our kilns, please keep the following rules in mind:
Item Limit: 2 items maximum per participant using your 2 lbs of clay.
Size & Dimensions:
No solid clay masses: All pieces must be hollowed or built with appropriate wall thickness to dry completely and avoid cracking/exploding in the kiln.
Goldilocks Zone: Pieces cannot be excessively large/tall or miniature/tiny (very small items risk getting damaged or lost in the kiln).
Cancellation, Missed Class & Refund Policy
To allow for proper scheduling, staffing, and material preparation, the following policy applies to all bookings:
Single-Session Workshops & Family Events
• Full payment is required at the time of booking.
• Cancellations made 5 or more days in advance will receive a full refund, less a $10 administrative fee.
• Cancellations made with less than 5 days’ notice are non-refundable.Late Arrival
Sessions begin promptly to ensure a smooth studio experience for all participants. Guests arriving more than 10 minutes late may be unable to join once the session is underway. Sessions cannot be extended, and refunds are not provided for late arrivals.Additional Information
• Refunds are issued to the original form of payment.
• Mira Pottery Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a session due to low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, participants will receive a full refund or studio credit.
