Our 4-Week Studio Sampler is the perfect introduction to working with clay - designed for complete beginners or anyone wanting a hands-on taste of the full pottery process.
Over four weeks, you’ll be guided step-by-step through each stage of creating your own ceramic pieces in a supportive studio environment.
Week 1 & 2 – Wheel Throwing (6pm-8:30pm)
Get your hands on the pottery wheel and learn the basics of centering, opening, and pulling clay. You’ll explore foundational techniques while creating simple forms like bowls and cylinders.Week 3 – Trimming & Handles (6pm-8pm)
Once your pieces have dried to “leather hard,” you’ll refine their shape by trimming and smoothing bases, adding detail and balance to your work.Week 4 – Glazing (6pm-8pm)
Bring your pieces to life with colour and finish. In this final session, you’ll learn how to dip glaze your pieces to transform them from raw clay into functional, finished ceramics.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a set of handmade pieces and a solid understanding of the full pottery process from raw clay to kiln-fired results.
No experience needed - just come ready to get messy, experiment, and enjoy the process.

Cancellation, Missed Class & Refund Policy
To ensure fair scheduling and to allow us to prepare materials and staffing in advance, the following cancellation and refund policy applies to all bookings:
Multi-Week Classes
Registration for multi-week classes is for the full session and cannot be refunded once the class has begun.

10+ days before the first class: Full refund minus a $25 administrative fee

5–9 days before the first class: 50% refund

Less than 5 days before the first class: No refund
Missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
Participants who miss a class will be provided with access to scheduled studio time for uninstructed practice. Details will be provided by your instructor at the start of the session.Additional Notes

Mira Pottery Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class or event due to low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. In these cases, a full refund will be provided.
